Airplane Weight and Balance Worksheet

This Excel workbook is an MAA Weight & Balance calculator designed to help pilots quickly verify loading for club aircraft. Select the aircraft, enter passenger/baggage values in the blue input cells, and the sheet will calculate takeoff/landing weight, CG/moment, remaining capacity, and plot the results on the applicable envelope charts, with an added Va (maneuvering speed) reference and a reminder that the pilot is responsible for final W&B verification.

Airplane Tug User Guide

This guide provides the club’s step-by-step procedures for safely operating the MAA electric “Best Tug,” including normal use, battery/charge status checks, and proper handling around aircraft. It also covers key safety and contingency items—such as the manual park override location and use—so members can move aircraft confidently and avoid equipment or aircraft damage.

FAA & Flight Reference Documents

Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM)

Basic with Change 1

The AIM is the FAA’s primary reference for U.S. airspace, ATC procedures, flight operations, and safety guidance used in everyday flying. “Basic with Change 1” indicates this copy includes the first official update to the current AIM cycle, so you’re using the most up-to-date procedural information available for that edition.

Airplane Flying Handbook

The Airplane Flying Handbook provides basic knowledge that is essential for pilots. This handbook introduces basic pilot skills and knowledge that are essential for piloting airplanes.

Pilot / Controller Glossary

This Glossary was compiled to promote a common understanding of the terms used in the Air Traffic Control system. It includes those terms which are intended for pilot/controller communications.

Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge

This handbook provides the basic knowledge that is essential for pilots. It introduces pilots to the broad spectrum of knowledge that will be needed as they progress in their pilot training.

Aeronautical Chart Users' Guide

This Chart Users’ Guide is an introduction to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) aeronautical charts and publications. It is useful to new pilots as a learning aid, and to experienced pilots as a quick reference guide.
